For all Rez fans out there this was announced yesterday I believe but I guess everyone was too busy over Microsofts conference to notice much. Sounds interesting to me and heres a video. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-child-of/101458
Sold! I play Rez once a week to relax (I'm not kidding)- its such a great and unique game. Guess I'll have to pick a next gen system up
I've had enough of this collective nerdgasm over the idea of controller-free games. It isn't the "future of gaming" or any such nonsense, it's just another (laggy, frustrating) interface re-jig like Wii or EyeToy. Nothing wrong with it in its place, and with the right game design, but the rhetoric being thrown around at the moment is getting pretty silly, and a lot of it is coming from people/companies who should know better. Anyway, the game looks decent, and it might actually work ok, but I'll take a fair bit more convincing.
I'm more than sure that it could be played with a controller. Hell, if it is half the game I am hoping for, I will gladly stand in the middle of the lounge and wave my arms around as if on some crazy LSD trip.
I'm just sick of all this hands free shit. With the Wii it was fine but now everyone is at it. When j play games I want to relax. I don't want to stand up. I don't want to wave my arms like a tit. I don't want to be the character. Really, what sort of sad fuck actually wants to be the character? Playing as the character, yes but being the charcter???? Like I said, give it a year to move on.
$B%^%82{$+$7$$$h!*(B Step aside old man! Joking aside, I do rather like the idea of trying some gaming with my hands in this manner. I have no desire to attempt to play tennis wii style as I would rather just play tennis. I don't need to get fit(ter). However, this could be interesting; like some kind of multitouch experience, and Rez was really about music, colours and senses...
Apparently it can be played with a controller. Good thing as retailers listing Kinect Preorders at $150.00 is at least $50 more than I want to play, especially since you have to be standing for the thing to work. Thats deal-breaker for me.
