I recently bought a xbox360 arcade. I wanted to buy the hard drive separately to save a few bucks. I was looking into ebay and I saw a lot of cheap Chinese hdd (something like 35$ for a 20 gig and 80$ for a 120). I was wondering if they are reliable or if I'm better spending 1.5x the price on a used original one. Anybody tried one of those?
Wow, a friend of mine mentioned this and I didn't know he was serious. They might be goofy, dunno if I'd do it.
Me as well... That's why I wanted to have some feedback on them. I think I might buy a 20 gb and if it breaks easily, I might just use the shell and replace the hdd with a 120 gb. I guess I'll have to do backup of my saved games on my memory card.
I'm also interested in a HDD for my Xbox 360. How can I determine if it's a genuine HDD or a hacked one?
The easiest way is to look at the .SS in Hex, then compare it with the 'leaked' .SS, if its the same you have a hacked one, which is potentially ripe for getted you banned on XBL.
