5 days without news.

 

No updates yet, due some personal happenings this weekend was unable to go online much and doing Linux-Grub work and pc upgrades.
Ill post code and some howto tonight, so you or other can quickstart looking and trying yourself compiling mame with custom code.
Download mamed (Debug version) enables one to look at the code, maybe make a jump, patch a memory location? those things are what I want to try soon.

so if you add pepp0066 to the menulist stuff and try compile it you get the same file as I did.

maybe something needs change or adding in section:
READ8_MEMBER(peplus_state:eplus_input_bank_a_r)

or im not getting the picture yet complete and ill have a look at:

or something completley different... i might first try to mod the game itself to read a closed door, then look where in memory he is looking... im... not yet used to mame and Cpp.

rename the rom pp0065.u68 to pp0066.u68, then it should work.. well... weird bug or thing of my programming skills, cpu is all doing NOP ...

but you can try your rom and debug, maybe traceback the memory location it tries to read the door from. then ill need to patch that location to be always 0 i think.

SHort answer, 2n8 will be no working patch day.

Longer answer: I have an internship and this takes a lott of time, also some other private stuff going on. so I cannot promise anytime soon.
also take into account im just a student level programmer, with some knowhow about these 80s style systems and programs and just learned to work with mame in debug mode. If you have an exact memory location for me, i can make a path that will always read a 1 or a 0 of our choice.
I dont know how long this will take, sorry. (can be week(unlikely), month(s) or even a year.)

Yeah, this is because the CPU is now getting onlu NOP instructions... no others... very weird, so my memory allocations are wrong.

CodeAsm already said he is busy. Chasing him at every opportunity wont change that. If there is any news to tell, it would be told already.

 

nope, realy busy. preparing for CHina in februari (school lost some files, needed to resend it, they told me files where not ok...)
So... last night trying to fix vacuum cleaner of my parrents, motor defect. no time for Poker game, like some ppl say here, its for free and like I said, im no expert, and not much free time (I am not even able to play Halo4 since its release )

cant promise anything, and if you need it to be done before X date or something, hire a programmer in CPP(c++) experiance. (For real, they may be expensive and also need to do research, but hey, you pay them to have time )

At work right now, I shouldn't be on Assembler atm.
