The x-pattern comes from using c-video as sync. So yes the cable you linked to will fix the issue since it uses luma as sync. You could also modify your existing cable, but you need a soldering iron for that.

I know how to modify the cable, the problem though is that the console side is glued together. If I manage to open it up, I'll destroy the plastic.

Did anyone else notice how different Snes consoles work better with different cables?
I have a 1CHIP that works best with resistors, and the other one that works best with caps

I think mine might be the first revision . Maybe I'll give this a shot. Replace the caps for resistors. What values should I use?

Depends on how bright you want your picture. Off the top of my head, I think 50-75Ω are the most common.

Before you do anything do some research, off the top of my head 75 ohm.
First RGB cable I bought was the one with caps, it works fine on PAL Gamecubes but Snes (1CHIP) is way too dark. I pulled the caps out and put the resistors in and working fine.
I tried using the same cable on another Snes and picture is too bright on it, since then I bought a second RGB cable with caps so I still have one for the Gamecube, out of curiosity I tested that cable with the second Snes and looks better
Have in mind that your problem might be different from mine though, your picture is not overly bright or overly dark to the point you can't even see anything

In my case the picture is not overly bright or dark, but comparing it with my super famicom cable, it's slightly brighter (the pal cable)
I suspect that swapping the caps won't solve my problem. I read online that it is a syncing issue with my cable and tv

If you want to remove the cross hatch pattern then I recommend that you buy an official Nintendo RGB cable. They were only available in France (as far as I know). Try searching on ebay for 'snes peritel'.
