It's Christmas time again, that lovely time of year again when the malls are full and people's stress levels reach their max! But enough about that, what games do you play during the holidays? I always pull out Christmas Nights as my tradition. Forget the tree! Let's destroy some tree-shaped Ideya Captures!
My Christmas games are the earlier Elder Scrolls games, Jazz Jackrabbit, and the Crusader series, among others. (In case you can't tell, I'm a PC gamer)
I usually like to run through Shenmue 1. That game evokes such special memories for me, not to mention the fact that it starts off in December and the town undergoes a change around Christmas with decorations and that walking Santa character.
Well, I'll be at home for Christmas, so that means its time to play all tons of massively multiplayer console games with old friends. Saturn Bomberman, Death Tank Zwei, Twisted on 3d0, Anticipation and Monopoly on NES, pactically anything on the N64 that's multiplayer. Good fun. (When I'm alone though, late at night, I play arcade games exclusively. Out comes the Colecovision, 2600, DC and anything else I have lots of arcade games for.)
Hmm I use my holidays to hit the rpgs hard At the moment I'm playing, Xenosaga II Then, Tales of rebirth, Zwei, Grandia 3 Rockman Command I have about 15 ps2 jp rpgs that have yet to be played, so I'm just seeing how many I can kill over christmas. Also my bro's are getting me homura for christmas. Oh and I'm mostly watching gankutsuou and hanihani (the anime) in between.
Normally I'd settle for Playing through some RPG starting on dec 1st and determined to finish by dec 31st...but this year I'm going slightly different. I'm asking Santa for a CPS2 with SF2 adn building myself a Supergun over christmas
I forgot about Shenmue. That was one of my first Dreamcast games, and I played it for a few hours over Christmas (it was one of my presents that year).
Well, I finally beat ZOE II (The second to last boss is a real bitch), so I started up on KillZone. Its ok for a PS2 FPS... Im probably going to eject it and play one of my RPGs or something, though. After Christmas, I might play Wild Arms Alter Code F. I also got Drakengard and it looks pretty fun.
Well if I get any game as a christmas present I might play it. but otherwise I think I will just "dance around the tree" and other none-gaming-typical-christmas-things
I got it the day it launched in late 2000. It's just one of those games that I'll never grow tired of. The mood, the setting, the music, the weather effects, it just all works together in some magical way. But yeah, everytime I play it I'm reminded of the holidays for some reason.
I do that as well. I play through all of Chrono Trigger at least once a year during holidays. I first finished the game in december 1996, and I do it every year. The music of Chrono Trigger, for me, has become like Christmas music for me. I associate it with the time. I did miss last year, though. I'll make up for it this year. I will finish FFX with my girlfriend, too. And I have to finish La Pucelle and I'm at the last dungeon in ATL: TOS. And I'm buying myself either a DS or DQ8 And Ace Combat 5 for a self-gift.... What would be better?
Holidays are reserved for beating the games that I started before school gets hectic as hell around Thanksgiving or so. Looks like over break here I'll definitely be beating EGG and Legend of Oasis which I got about half way through each before my gaming time went out the window. I Bought a couple Xbox games on Black Friday that I will probably try and beat as well.
Christmas is a time for deathmatching with the entire family. It's fun to lob grenades at your cousins, because they always camp in the same damn spot. This year it shall be Battlefront II and Call of Duty, with a little Stronghold and Diablo II: LoD co-op thrown in for variety.
Amen to that, nothing is more satisfying that beating the snot out of my annoying cousins, in video games that is. Although... (strokes chin in contemplation) ;-)
Hmmm, before Xmas I'll probably be playing a lot of RPG's as I am right know (almost at the end of Xenosaga, and surprisingly it's only taken me 15 hours) and next up I'll probably be playing Ninja Gaiden. Then around Xmas, at my mom's house, I always bring the Xbox for Dead Or Alive and other fighting games and maybe some Halo, since there I can play with my stepdad and sister. After Xmas, if all goes well, I'll be playing a DS, and maybe have a new decent TV!
I play through as many games as I can from my backlog before vacation ends. This year it'll probably end up being Oddworld: Strangers Wrath and Digital Devil Saga (maybe the second one as well, but I don't think i'll have enough time for that).
