Pardon me for my french, but this is stupid. What ever happened to science and rational thinking? I thought America was built on that. How did USA win the space-race? With a bible? :110:

 

Maybe Chuck Norris just wants more people to worship because he IS God

 

B/c the majority of the US is in what is called the "Bible Belt"... a region which is generally not open to debate on all things religion.

 

Fighting wars for God seems to be a more attractive option than teaching science and logic. Logic and science would often defy unreasonable commands, and you just can't afford that in a country that has a war-based economy , poking in external affairrs of other nations year after year =P

Anyway, i was expecting old' Chuck to be much cooler after having kicked so much ass in his life

Bible class should not be forced on anybody in school IMO. However, as an option I do not see the harm at all.

In terms of science, much of it is guestimation ultimately. When you get into higher level physics especially, it's all guess work that is constantly changing and being modified as the scientific community bickers back and forth. Much of it we will never know for sure. The Big Bang theory, for instance, is nothing more than a theory. We cannot prove or disprove it as the beginning of the universe, nor can we prove or disprove that there is an ultimate being. It's all about personal belief.

As long as religion and scientific theory are not taught as fact then it's all fine. If either are ever taught as the truth or as the only answer then there are problems.

With Chuck Norris, pft. Sell out. Bow Flex lost my respect for him. The moment Bruce Lee ball-stamped Norris, he became terribly weakened.

Nope. In fact he, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dennis Miller are pretty much the only two celebs in Hollywood that are Republicans. The rest are open-minded and don't take advantage of poor people.

Well I think we all know by now I'm a Christian and I can tell you MOST of this country isn't in a bible belt there are only a few states in the south that are irrational and have such a warped view on exactly what the bible is saying to them.

Also alot of what the bible says has been varified.......

but I'll leave you to research that on your own.

It's also a myth that all wars are because of religion....most wars are because of power person X wants land Y and needs a reason.

I don't think calling red states part of the bible belt is completely erroneous, although their levels of dickheadness definitely vary.

You wouldn't know it from my posts but I'm a christian as well... just much more liberal than most. I will have to say though that most, if not all of the Bible has not been varified. Hence the word "faith". In fact, a lot of it has been disproven (age of the Earth, the physics of Noah's ark, etc.) which can mean a lot of it (the Old Testament for example) is written in parable form.

 

The Bible belt is only the South from Alabama to Texas into oklahoma. And most are too inbred to understand the bible.

I live in the Bible Belt, and I wouldn't say anyone around here is an "INSAAANE" Christian or anything, but one cashier at Wal-Mart told me that Prince of Persia is a game about Satan and I shouldn't buy it. Prince of Persia is one of Satans quadrillions of nicknames, btw.

Though if my mom and dad knew about the content in some of the games I own (like SMT), they'd probably burn them, lol.

My Moms not too bad on that, but she once saw the part in FF7 where the mutant monster thing pops out of the pod and she said "What is this, Satans-R-us?" as a joke. She did however "Really not like" Parasite Eve, because she saw an ad featuring Eves monster form, and she said it was one of the scariest looking monsters ever put into a video game or something like that.

I lived in a small Utah town that was 99% Mormon, and my family is 99% Mormon. Fun stuff.

 

I think the Hollywood liberal crowd is just as closed-minded and set in their ways. They just happen to be on the other end of the argument.
