Personally I love them. Tonight I found a Japanese site that showed of a few clones that I hadn't seen before.

Is it a Master System? A Super Famicom? or a Famicom?

and how about this beauty. A Famicom and Mega Drive built in to a Joystick !!

You can see a few more at http://tsuru.tri6.net/pachi/p-hard.html

  2. Isn't that phrase, "Audio And Visual Intelligent Terminal" from the Japanese Megadrive boxes??

I'm sortof intrigued as to that one that is both the Famicom and the MegaDrive built into the joystick. And since the Famicom is 8-bits and the MegaDrive is 16, that TECHNICALLY makes the controller a 24-bit system... :smt043 :smt043

Out of curiousity, does anyone have a NeoFami unit? This is the one I'm talking about:

As much as I'd love to have a real Famicom, this one is pretty cool looking, and depending on where I look, can be had for about $35 or so. I just want to know if it's worth it or a complete piece of shit.

I am not a big fan of the clone. I would buy one if i came acoss it and was not too expensive, but i dont go out of my way to get them. I do, however, like the look of the Neo Fami better than the original Famicom.

I saw one of them in Black as well as the original Famicom colours in my local shop a month ago. Seemed to be pretty well built. far better than some of those Chinese clones.

i don't love them so much...especially when they haven't their own designs....
like a nes in a 64 pad.... or a famicom in a psx.

but if i find one ,REALLY cheap , ill buy it , only for collection purposes.

  10. I love hilarious bootleg crap. That Megadrive-in-a-joystick is one of the neatest I've seen.

Theres an official famicom and megadrive clone comming out with a built in controller...?

I hate clones. Especially that damn Gametech Neo Fami. They're worthless pieces ofshit no better than any other famiclone because they use the same "NES on a chip." They cannot play all games, they have very poor sound and their palette is slightly off.

Yakumo, the very first pic you posted is a Famicom. (as you can see by its cartridge shape)

That http://tsuru.tri6.net/pachi/ site is owned by a friend of a friend of a friend of mine :)

The Famicom/megadrive combo is called the "Modern Mate."

I've got a few clones, the dendy (as detailed on Assembler, got that one for five bucks,) one of those Tv play power things which works great on my TV, takes famicom carts, also a Protech clone that has 50 unique early famicom games/hacks.

I love clones, the variations you can get out of a single console that came out over 20 years ago never ceases to amaze me.

But nothing beats the original for gameplay purposes.

I didn't know the famicom can play Metroid Prime (is that what's on the screen?).

Pretty nice there assembler, I saw one of those in a B&W monitor (that could be used as a security camera) also one that had a even inch LCD display and was very portable. Where do you find stuff like this, as I could use a Japanese/Asian TV, so I might as well get one with a famicom built in.
