Re: CNN said ,and that's not a joke, that the xbox 2 could b I doubt it, and I don't think you can get viruses on a console.
hahaha I've read that they are thinking of making 2 versions of it. One will be a standard games machine and the other will be what has already posted above. It would make very little sense to make the hybrid only as it will cost a horrendous amount and not many people will buy it. When they say PC games they are most likely refering to their new cross platforming programming garbage which is for PC and Xbox2.
Viruses You can get a virus on almost anything that has software that can be tampered with to my knowledge. For example there is now a virus for Pocket PC's.
Re: Viruses Hmmm.... I didn't know that. It would suck if someone did make a virus that attacked consoles.
Yeah, but the only time a virus is really threatening is when: 1: You have a hard drive (not an issue until Xbox came out) 2: It could do things like update firmware and whatnot. Everything else is wiped out of RAM when you turn the power off.
first of all, i whant to say sorry if i offensed someone that love microsoft ( :smt017 ) or anything else, for those who read what i said or for those that will. i just wasn't able to do anything else than laugh.... :smt043 i love the xbox console btw, just not miccrosoft and their politics ,way to conquer everything,...
Don't worry, you didn't offend me. I just didn't think Microsoft would make such a risky move. Two versions of the console sounds more resonable, but it still seems like a bad move to me.
I've heard totally different event of things. I post in more pc oriented forums, and it seems that Microsoft will go for PPC this time around vs an x86 CPU~ and this would kill any notion of tossing in a PC game. My mai idea is they would do that because they don't want people hacking it like crazy, and while people will still code for the Xbox via hacks, I tihnk choosing a totally different processor would be the easiet solution to reduce the number of hacks out there. Man though...the thing I wonder the most outside the PS3 (since we know absolute shit and we are hit with "Cell" B.S.) is the graphic subsystems between the Xbox2 and Gamecube2. Both of them will be ATI powered cards...will they be the same, or will is there a "competition" to see which team inside ATI will put out a better graphic chip XD~ if its the latter, than I'm defintely rooting for the team working on Nintendo's console
