Hello, i recently got hold of a copy of Cobra Triangle for the NES, but it's the Asian version (light grey cart). I'm from Uruguay and had never seen an Asian Version cartridge up to this point in my country, as virtually all NES consoles here are the standard NA NTSC. I got the cart loose but it's on nearly mint condition. I tested it on my modded NTSC NES and it works fine, but has a weird glitch that makes the game's status bar constantly "jump" from the bottom to the top of the screen, i assume that's because Asian NES consoles were PAL? In any case, I was wondering what the rarity/price of this particular cartridge may be, cause i didn't find any listings for it on ebay. I never sell games, but I usually don't like keeping something just for rarity's sake and I would like to know what it's value is if i were to trade it for something more 'playable' to me. Thanks in advance!
It doesn't seem to be super rare. I found a copy for $20, http://www.gamesstationretro.com/product_info.php?products_id=1333 But saying that I've always found some Asian stuff hard to obtain so I would suggest holding onto this.
Thank you Demon! I think I'll hold onto it then. I'm assuming you're from the US, so if Asian stuff is hard to come by there, just imagine how harder it is in my country, which in total has about the population of about one neighborhood in any major US city Then again, there are some rare games that for some reason are quite common here in Uruguay. First one that comes to mind is Wild Guns for the SNES, I currenly own two copies, and I've seen them a dime a dozen in the past here, even CIB. Same goes for the Atari Jaguar and its games, they are not EXTREMELY common, but apparently around 97' a local game store made a big import (for our market) of Atari's leftover stock, so we got flooded in Jag stuff.
Not a problem and sorry for the delay. 1:38 am here. I'm from the UK and only been in a few and saw this reply. I'm no expert on Nintendo Asian stuff but in some cases Asian stuff can be very hard to come by. Example's would be certain Genesis/MegaDrive games or Master System/Game Gear. Infact to this day I've only ever seen 1 legit Asian Game Gear game. There's some really common stuff like Sonic 2 etc but then Sonic 1/etc would be harder to find. I assume this would apply to NES stuff also. From my hunting for some Asian stuff in the past I've found it more easy to locate Korean stuff and that's next to impossible to find these day's. Least the decent stuff and at a decent price. That's very interesting your country imported a lot. If you ever see Asian SEGA stuff feel free to send me a PM. Depending on what it is I might be happy to pay you a handsome fee for certain bits. Also welcome to the Assembler forums!
