Hey all, Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. So, I have a Colecovision but it has no power supply, and those things, particularly in the UK, are exceedingly rare. But I have discovered a German eBay company, here, which is offering a modified power adapter which is both cheaper and smaller than the real deal. Probably more reliable, too. Only problem is, I can't for the life of me find the power cable it says doesn't come included - the 'IEC69300 wall plug'. I've googled and all that seems to come up is parts for building one yourself! Which is no good. Digging has given me an impression that they are referring to the plug that does into power adapters for old IDE drives. From the photo at least, it's what it looks like. Can anyone give me pointers, like a good place to buy these things? Or am I right that it's referring to a HDD plug? Thanks a ton
This might help. http://www.bacman.co.uk/home/colecovision-voltages/ I sold my transformer ages ago - and yes, they are really large and heavy for what they are! If you can't get an adaptor you might consider making your own transformer, you can always solder to the power pins if you don't want to open the console up - although the console is easy to open as it uses standard screws.
I think you misunderstand, it's not the voltages I am confused by. They are set by the power brick that comes with what's offered in that eBay link. But the actual plug that goes from the wall into the power brick is what's missing, and I am unsure what shape it's meant to be.
As far as I can tell there is no IEC standard with that number, however there is a Colecovision power supply listed on amazon.de that mentions it and the associated pictures show power cables with IEC 60320 C13 plugs. That's the same one that is commonly used on PCs and other devices, so you probably have a suitable cable already.
