So my long time wish is to at least have one completed game library.
    But im torn between which!

Im only considering Saturn and Playstation.

Ive always been a PS fan, but there is almost 2000 games.
Never been a sega fan and there is only around 700 or less.

Which one is more valuable and fun to collect for?

Sega Saturn in the US is 245 + demos.

You ask us what you should collect because you have no preference for either system whatsoever? Well, you'll never have a complete set of anything with that attitude, let me tell you that...
Firstly, think of what you like most and if you're passionate (and crazy) enough you may end up with a complete set of that particular platform, depending on how doable it is. It's really hard to keep motivated about collecting something you have no passion for... and collecting because something is "more valuable" is pointless. Even if it is, you will have to shell out more money for it in order to collect and how do you wanna justify that if you don't even like it?

Playstation has more of everything, both good and bad. Expect a lot more stuff you probably just don't want.

What ave said, collect what you're passionate about. It may even start with just playing emulators and getting to like the system you'll eventually want to get the real thing.

I started collecting for Sega Saturn, then moved onto the Japan library for the Saturn I started to realise it was getting too expensive for me to continue collecting for the system. I later moved onto the Nintendo 64 - I had a lot of complete games already 16 or so from my childhood. I picked up again adding another 10-15 games or so and a system. That also became too expensive where one game could cost $80. That's above what I can afford a month.
So I had to think for a bit, what system can I afford but really enjoy, this went on for months. I softmodded my XBOX and started to get hooked into the hardware, loved how that machine worked and it just developed from there, also I can afford a lot of the titles $4-$30 a game and sometimes I end up picking up more than 20 games a month. I have now over 110 games, would be more if I had a job...

Just take your time to be attracted to a certain system and stick to it, knowing you will stick to it. Otherwise you'll have broken libraries of games and systems it will look like a mess and half assed.
Many major collectors, hunt for one system. Jumping from one to another will be difficult and hard to manage.

Good luck and you'll have fun collecting when you love a certain system.

Easiest Idea. Buy any $1-2 game you don't have for Playstation but focus on Saturn since it has less games and pick up anything you don't have when you can for under 5-10 max for the commons and more for the rare stuff depending price etc. Well that's how I would do it

I think ima go with Saturn. Because with saturn having such a small library it would be faster. But i love some of the games on saturn that i played via re releases. My fave of them being Nights into dreams.
Shame Resident Evil 2 was cancelled on the platform.

Assuming you are talking US Saturn releases: You do realize how many $50+ titles there are in that library? Not trying to talk you out of this, but if you don't have much passion for the system (translates to: "the will to continue collecting only Saturn for many years to come") you may as well choose something else rather than die trying. If you want an easy system to complete and you don't care about which one it is, why not go for US Virtual Boy? 15 games, no expensive ones.

in all honesty there's that many systems and games catalogs its not hugely practical to strive for complete collections, i tend to just go for the games i like and not bother with the ones i don't but if i were you and wanted what you wanted

then there's a few clear options:

    SEGA Dreamcast
    SEGA Saturn
    Nokia N-Gage
    SEGA 32x
    TurboGrafx / PCE
that's just what comes to mind

I never really said i hated the saturn. I just never got into it because really, i never had one.
But there are some games id like on saturn though. The original tomb raider, croc, and resident evil games for starters.

But i dont know. I probably will then just stick with PS1. Cheaper anyways, and would look cooler on a shelf. (No ugly big box).
    Ok then.

Last thing I'll say about this: Collect what you like the most or else you'll lose your motivation very quickly. That's why I sold my PAL games a long time ago in order to focus on my favorite, Japanese versions of games. And I never looked back... others may do it the other way around.

    That's a really weird question.

Why bother collecting something that you don't like...
