I was thinking about starting to collect PSP games. I was wondering if it would be worth while. The reason I ask is because of how much piracy there is for the system.

Yay and nay. There are a few rare titles worth something but a majority of PSP Games are worth nothing (far too easy to find).

If you do get into collecting, I recomend snagging up demo UMDs from japan. They are in limited print run and if you're quick to act, you can find them on yahoo jp auctions.

As for what I think are rare games.
    1. Minna no Golf Coke Ed
    2. Can't remember the name but a launch game for Korea that was about racing.

There's also all the Usual pre-order Dvd stuff from the JPN Tales games and
Limited Editions for games are becoming more and more common place in the West.

Then you have all the crazy limited edition Consoles that come with things like the Not for Resale version of MGS:peace Walker and all that junk.

The limited MGS:portable Ops consoles still are fetching a pretty penny on Ebay and the like. (I still see them going for 900+ dollars sometimes. Wish I had the money to collect one of em)

Yeah, I think as soon as I have another decent job I'm going to set aside a few hundred dollars just to nab bigger-name SE systems.

Luminous first edition is abit rare since it allowed you to soft mod your psp. Copies were snatched up pretty quickly.

Yeah, I remember going to my local Toys R Us, bought all 33 copies for about $10 a piece, sold them all on eBay for around $30.

Such a good time in the PSP hacking scene.

Haha, that it was. I remember it fondly.

Especially when 1.50 was THE firmware to have and the markup on the prices for 1.50 systems on ebay was hilariously awesome.
I sold a 1.50 system with a cracked screen and a 1gb Stick along with a few "other" things for 300$

    Oh :/

DJ max 1 should be pretty special, as it was a Korea only release.

I picked up the other day Patapon 2. Would that be worth anything?

It depends if you want to collect for the sake of value or just having a collection.

I'm tempted to start a PSP collection BECAUSE of piracy. Games are so cheap here in the UK if you don't mind picking up second hand. I can get a near mint copy of Crisis Core for £5. Completing a PAL collection should be fairly easy.

    No not really.

Anything published by sony is usually pretty easy to come by. Specially since Patapon 2 is apart of their $10 budget line for PSP.
