So sad :crying:, anyway as said before, I bet a few things could be salvaged and get back into working condition, but that would be the minority anyway.

I think most of that could be salvaged. All the boxes/labels are ruined without a doubt but given a wash everything could look like new and probably still work.

How is it a tragedy? People died in Australia's flooding. THATS a tragedy.

    Lives > Games.

Obviously, its not exactly good though is it, lesser of two evils. Mind you, there is also the fact his house will be wrecked.

    It's all gone!

I thought I had an account here, but I guess it may have been a million years ago...

Anyway, thanks for the commiserations. Losing your shit like this does sorta suck, but we were insured and for a reasonable amount, so I'm trying to convince myself it was faster and easier than ebaying it all.

I lost a lot of really rare stuff, but I saved a lot too. We had a few hours warning, and so we borrowed a truck and moved to higher ground for a few days. The house was a rental, we're now renting another (on TOP of the hill this time!). We did alright, and I'm making plans to buy some shiny new toys with the money.

I recommend insuring your stuff. I'd still be screaming if I didn't get paid out by a very easy going insurance company. I made the claim, they approved it in two days, and paid it in five more, for the full amount. People who paid for cheaper insurance are still waiting.

There's one on every forum. There will always be a greater tragedy, you don't get a higher score for pointing that out.

You probably got pruned - it happened ages ago but doesn't happen now.

I always thought you were in Japan. Sorry to hear of your loss. Glad you had insurance, but that can't replace some items, of course - plus if you were to want to buy them all again, that would be a lot of effort!

You were lucky - a lot of insurance companies would be funny about insuring and paying out for such stuff. Sad how they like to screw people :\

Did you still have that white IS Saturn address checker? Did that survive?
