Well I ordered my first import Saturn game Shining Force III and got it in the mail the other day, so now all I need to do is find a local Japenese Saturn and im off to the race. :smt042

Alright I find my Saturn today and not to far from where I live :smt023 I love the Shining Force games and I just played Shining III on my USA Saturn and just knowing that it continued on the Japanese Saturn well needless to say I want to play them, so I put my brand new import disc in and " hold everything" hell I just played this in english!! :no

So SHINING FORCE 3 SCENARIO 1 in Japan is nothing more then SHINING FORCE 3. I thought it went

    SHINING FORCE 3
    SHINING FORCE 3 SCENARIO 1
    SHINING FORCE 3 SCENARIO 2
    SHINING FORCE 3 SCENARIO 3
    SHINING FORCE 3 PD

    OOPS :-D

One odd thing for sure, I got a disc read error on the import disc and the USA one at the same spot .

The English language version of Shining Force is only part of the game as you've now found out. The full series takes place over 3 discs.

Hmm, I thought everyone knew that. Shining Force III Scenario 1 is what we got. The game then continued to Scenario 2 in Japan, and its progress depended on what you did in Scenario 1. This was a very exciting concept, and we all eagerly awaited the game in the West, but alas, it was never to be released.

AFAIK only on websites. I've never heard of anyone changing the japanese text to english inside the game.

This has always been a problem in the US with Japanese released games of the RPG type and another example of Sega not having good direction. At this point Sega had to have an idea that it was doomed in the hardware game but among the best on their software side. The Sonic series, PS series as well as the Shining series just to name a few and should have continued Shining on another platform or at the vary least the Dreamcast. But no they ignore the USA and Europe once again but I guess there is no point crying over spilled milk and did Sega to this day grow wiser to their mistakes HELL NO!!! They are now in the process of hammering the final nail in the Shining series coffin with Shining Tear, just what we need another action RPG. :angry
