How psyched are you? With no PS2 BC I am hoping it's not some half assed port. If there could be long draw distance... see the colossus from miles away... I can only hope!
Didn't one of the press attendees also report that the new games would support 3D TV output? My guess is that Sony is trying to get a defacto standard in place again, whereby the majority of 3D TV buyers will apparently base their purchasing decision on whether or not they can play Ico.
I'm pretty psyched. The only thing I didn't like about Colossus was the bad framerate when there was a lot of stuff going on at the same time. If they fix that and increase the resolution (I'm assuming it'll probably be 720p) it'll probably look almost like a current-gen game. It'll be cool to see Ico at a higher resolution, too; the original had a lower resolution than most PS2 games, probably like 320x240 or something like that. I don't think they'll half ass it, considering how much attention to detail there was in the originals. That's assuming that the original developers are involved somehow, of course.
My money's on half-arsed. Looking forwards to seeing it either way, they're both pretty special games.
both titles will support HD resolution, run at 30fps, feature “extensive re-texturing” and include PlayStation Network Trophy support. Lastly, the version of Ico included in the collection will be the European version, which contained additional content such as a co-op mode and alternate ending. Im Sold.
OMFG it looks so fuckin' realistic! Now seriously, if they do it well a SOTC remake for PS3 can be amazing...
I Can't wait. I sadly don't own Ico anymore but I do have SOTC. It will be nice to play both again at a good fps and in HD.
Saw some pics, they didnt increase the polys nor changed the textures, just upscaled it. Hope they (unlike SEGA and SADX) at least increased the framerate
The frame-rate was because the PS2 could barely handle the game. The emulation should be much faster... in theory. I can't see them releasing it with the same FPS given today's market.
