Orange can do wonders to make a room look "lounge" like, especially if combined with white and a mellow kind of green (think Xbox green, only lighter). Maybe you can have ONE orange wall, (this will work wonders if your furniture is or can be white), and one mellow green wall. Everything else (doors, accesories) can be detailed in white. Keep clutter to a
minimum and add proper lighting and you're set.

I'll look for pictures of similar stuff.

Yes, it would in fact cafe-ish. Still, one orange wall would work wonders and goes nicely with your white furniture and details, like doors and windowframes. The trick is to find the right colour. Something like the dreamcast packaging would be right.

    I think, anyway.

What kind of orange? if its the bright dreamcast orange then it would look like a restaurant in your place and I'm sure you wouldn't like that, and it would 'attack' your eyes all the time. Maybe a more pleasant orange would work or a creme color.

HEre's a color palette that can match well with the wood flooring? Actually, what kind of wood flooring will go in? Hard wood, which is dark in tone, or softer tone wood like pine/maple?

The light blue I picked because it matches the blue picture frames you already have and do match light toned wood flooring....

There are more natural colors that will go well with any kind of wood flooring.

All the colors I just posted, except for blue, where all derived from the color orange. I'd suggest painting the door frames and windowsils like a dark brown color or something that goes well with the floor. Keeping it white will just destroy the contrast in the room.

I got the colors from MS Paint. Play around with that and compare it to the floor, look for the one that you like that goes well with the flooring and makes that room pleasant to be in.

A light blue or green might be nice, with white trim around the windows. Stick with light colors. Dark colors will crowd the room and tend to be invasive after a while. Keep the ceiling white too.

Go for the Atari 2600 look: black paint with wood paneling.
