So i have 4 copies of Combat and they all have Variations. 3 Have what appears to be a dust cover on and 1 doesnt. do the dust covers come off for you to play it or do they stay on and will the one missing the dust cover play without it? The one missing the dust cover has been opened as the screw is on show. They also have black covers with red text instead of the colorful cart art i have seen
There are many label variants of combat, even multiple version of the text label, with slightly different fonts and text size. The dust cover isn't important, but it seems someone removed it because it probablyt had a a broken spring. A number of third party games don't have the dust cover and slot straight in.
So if somebody was to put it in there Atari with the dust cover on it would go in and play yes? Sorry for the dumb questions but ive never seen an atari cart in real life much less a 2600
If you mean the plastic cover on the bottom covering the contacts- this retracts into the cartridge when inserted into the Atari which exposes the contacts.
Yes the dust cover is meant to be a permanent part of the cart. When it is inserted into the system it hits a catch and allows the pcb connectors to enter the cart slot.
