Component Cable

Hi All,

Could some tell me if there is a difference between the component cable from a retail xbox and that of a xdk system? i assume there are difference revisions of the component cable much like that of the power supply?

I have a beta 360 dev kit (no HDMI) and though a cable from an xbox elite retail might work but that dosent seem to be the case (dosent fit)

Odd. There were Proto Cables which were sent out with Beta Kits, but they have the same shape as the final ones.
So, there are no actual differences, other than how the cables which plug in your TV are sorted (Beta: red/white are one string and red/green/blue/yellow are the other string ; Final: Yellow/red/white are one string and red/green/blue are the other - you can kinda see that in the picture).

I took some pics comparing them:

 

do you have any cable that fits? Is it because the connector is different? Comparing pictures of the dev kits video port and one from an elite would be interesting.

The same little metal thing is there on the final cable, if you look closely you can even see it.

 

I have two 213w PSU's and one is black and the other grey. I was guessing the black one was a beta/prototype because of the color and age.

 

Not necessarily.

The left one came with a final Unit, the right one came with a Beta 1.
Doesn't matter, anyways, as they have the exactly same specs.
