I'm heading to Springfield tommorow for a concert at a nightclub, so I thought I'd take some pics and post em here. I've never been to there before. Might not seem like a big deal but I really don't get out often lol. I'm going to see Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, and Necrophagist. Hopefully I can grab a pic with the band if i'm lucky.
Whoa, Cannibal Corpse! that sure brings back alot from older years Do you happen to listen to Kult Ov Azazel, Entombed, Exhumed, Marduk and the likes?
give Kult Ov Azazel a shot (not the naughty kind), and especially the track "my misanthropy". I remember when Cannibal Corpse first started out , they were a bunch of teenagers with a laughable appearance compared to their voice
I'll check em out, I need some new music too hehe thanks. Yeah I've seen some pics of them from way back when and heard there demos lol. There new CD is pretty good I thought compared to The Wretched Spawn (last new one). I thought that one was kind of boring. There current singer looks really short so I wonder if i'm taller then him lol. I just hope there isn't any jackass kids who try to start fights in the pits and such, I have no tolerance for those, especially when this is a 2 hour drive and a 35$ ticket.
a good few punches and elbows to the chin during a pit fight and everyone stops playing with you. Works for me every time ..and I live in liverpool
Kult Ov Azazel is great! Thanks for the recommendation. Well the last concert I went to, there seemed to be a bunch of angry middle class kids that kept swinging there arms around punching the floors like ninjas or something. I ended up having to push a few floor punching dipshits back into there "pit" because they kept hitting into us in the back and this one girl who was just watching. Pretty annoying. i'm hoping since it's bands like Cannibal corpse and Dying Fetus there won't be a bunch of stupid kids there.
I almost forgot! Try Children of Bodom . (Kissing the Shadows is a suggested track) - there's some epic musical element in it too regarding the melody
Yes, I love Children Of bodom. I have about all the CD's they have. =) Dissection is a good band I just nabbed a CD of. Thorns of Crimson Death is a good track, they seem to be a mix of black/death metal, very good.
Ahh the metal thread! Have fun tonight, I'm off to Slayer/Children Of Bodom/Lamb Of God/ In Flames/Thine Eyes Bleed (unholy alliance 2) on the 20th - should be a great night! Children of bodom are one hell of a band
Nice! I would love to see Slayer! Unfortunatly I missed out on Venom a few months ago after looking at this places calender.
by the way, BOTH OF YOU, go get Electronomicon album by The Electric Hellfire Club. NOW! Wolven Society is a very nice album too, although i m not sure if u ll be able to find any or both. PM me in need. EDIT: check out "Old Man's Child" as well
Ah, "hardcore dancing." I don't like moshpits, but if you're going to hurt yourself and other (willing) participants, at least be serious about it. If I ever get spinkicked by one of these idiots, someone is going to lose some teeth.
Is that what it's called? Well I say it was jackassery at it's finest. It was at a ZAO show and they were there for the other stupid bands that sucked. I went to see ZAO and Misery Index and the idiots didn't even do anything during Misery Index, too fast for them I guess. I might hop into the pit tonight since I've had a very very shitty day. Maybe I need to UNLEASH TEH BEAST!
i might see the same show next week at montreal, if i can get my car back in working condition -_- Btw, if you like extreme/ technical / weird / experimental / fresh music, try between the burried and me, the dillinger escape plan *, behold the arctopus*, ion dissonance and epeth duath*. *with jazz elements. Pretty wicked.
Hardcore dancing orignated from hardcore punk bands and "skanking". When I got into hardcore in the late 90's, dancing was all about self expression and just doing whatever the music made you feel like. Usually it was just a blind rage of throwing kicks and punches. It was a good way to get out alot of anger. People would get hurt, but that was part of it. If you didn't want to get hit, then you stayed far out of the dance area. I've watched it gradually decline as you can tell poser kids started practicing in front of mirrors in their bedrooms and doing the same stuff over and over again. Then, you have the jackasses who try and stand in the middle of it all and act really pissed and try to fight when a stray punch lands in their face. It's pretty sad actually. That said, I just saw CC play in cincinati a few months ago. Truely awesome show. I was up front, a few feet right of center. No hardcore dancing, just meathead slamming and thrashing. People seemed to go especially nuts during Pit Full of Zombies. Like any good "real" metal show, if you don't want to get hurt, stay far away from the mass in the center.
Yes, excellent advice. Yeah, I know the hardcore dancing thing probably had it's time but the stuff I saw was definetly just some stupid poser kids. I doubt they were even born around the time. I'm leaving to the concert now, got an hours drive ahead. Wish me luck! If I can get any pics I'll post em here.
I would be very suprised if you couldn't. They played a fairly small bar/venue in cincy when I saw them. They were very gracious to all of the fans who came to see them and when I walked out side after the show I saw them hanging out bs'ing with alot of them. It really is humbling to see a band like this who has been around for over 20 years, has legions of fans, sold millions of records, and helped to define the genre into what it is today, still show a sincere appreciation to the people that helped make it happen. Them hanging around after the set was over and giving high fives/hand shakes to everyone who stuck around made me really want to give a middle finger to all the "nu-metalers" on mtv. So anyway, yes, please post pics if you get them.
You know, I couldn't stand them at first. I then saw this video for Lost Perfection: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsgrOY7I2SI, and it kind of clicked after that (sorry for the shitty delay, but that's YouTube's fault - the video was in sync when I sent it). Also, they originate from Raleigh, which is about a forty five minute drive from my house. I'm not biased at all, though .
NC is actually a hotbed for alot of hardcore and metal acts since the late 90's. Its also home to Tribunal Records in Greensboro, alot of now mainstream acts got their start on this label. Between the buried and me is (or at least was) made up of alot of memebers from another NC band called Glass Casket (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBXNzTr2gDs)
