Heyo, I'm new. I have a fondness for development tools, so I figure that's a good way to introduce myself. Over the years I've gone back and forth between collecting all development tools I could find for a platform, and sticking with the practical ones. For the most part, I was able to settle with just being able to run code on a system. As a result, I have sold off and traded to friends much of my extras and dupes, though I still do have a few things around. Since the CD/DVD/Mod/Memory Card systems are boring looking, there's no point showing those. Instead, here's my collection of specialty tools for development. The rarest things of note I have are probably my Wonderswan tools, and my few N64 kit bits. A breakdown of what you're seeing here (with the occasional link): Gameboy: Hack Tool (on system cart copier), 16M Card Gameboy/Gameboy Color: Bung Doctor GB 64M, Bung Pocket Voice (4M), Mr Flash 64M. Not shown, Bung GB parallel port programmer (I couldn't find it) Gameboy Advance: XPort 1.0 (FPGA for GBA), Visoly 128M Flash card, EFA 256M Flash card, QUAK game custom card. Not shown, Visoly GBA parallel port programmer (I couldn't find it, even though it was in front of my face), MBV2 parallel to GBA cable (a friend has them). Nintendo DS: Two PassMe's (from two separate manufacturers), 4G DS Xtreme Flash Cart Neo Geo Pocket/Color: Flash Linker, 32M Card Wonderswan/Color: 4M Wonder Witch, 32M WonderMagic card and parallel port programmer (Blue) Dreamcast: Dreamcast->PC Serial cable SNES: Super UFO (Floppy Drive, no parallel port hack) N64: E64 (V64jr's sold by MrFlash), DS1 Save RAM cart, Intelligent Systems IS Viewer 64 (Rev. C, 68pin SCSI), Interface Box (I have the box and test console, but I'm missing a power supply and "partner" cart). Not shown, two test consoles. Other: An original XGS (Red Mobo), a custom Gameboy to AT keyboard adapter (with PS2->AT adapter), an adapter for making a GBA flashcard work on a Gameboy/Color, and an adapter for letting you program a Gameboy/Color flashcard from a Playstation (Bizarre, but true). I also have a rather ridiculous technical book collection. So that's me. Hello! :icon_bigg
Welcome to the boards! I really love that KMC interface box. Damn, I´d like to have one of those someday...
That's a "KMC interface box" as Matthijscoman suggested. It's supposed to be paired with a special N64 cart, similar to the IS Viewer on the left (different connector though). Alas, I don't have the cart or a power cable for the Interface box, so it's just for show.
What kind of power supply does the box use? Maybe it´s possible to make one yourself! Ow and Partner-N cartiridges pop up on ebay from time to time, so I´m sure you´ll be able to get one of those sometime.
It's a specialty connector, similar to a MIDI plug. A long time ago, I thought I actually found a pinout deep within KMC's website (possibly with archive.org), but I still don't trust myself enough playing with power.
Its a 5-pin DIN connector, I have several SCSI boxes with the same layout. I think it may be standard, but don't quote me!
I'm not sure how much of a usable PC it is. At the very least it looks to plug in to a network, and likely has host software for your PC to control it over the network.
