I wondered if it is possible somehow to connect a legit XDK to xbox live rater than partnernet (which has been discontinued) ?
Well I can't connect to it using my devkit so it is kinda odd, it says "impossible to connect to xbox live" might be my config though On the xdk dashboard it sais "LOGON_CANNOT_ACCESS_SERVICE (0x80151001)" I'll try later
after a few short investigations it looks like the development kit (I don't know about the debug) epprom's serial is filed of 9 (9999999999999999) and that the hdd lock code is filled of 0 it also seems the eeprom data is fully decryped/plaintext in devkits, thus it might be intersting to see if filling in a retail xbox serial number (and maybe using a retail dashboard to register) allow us to play on live (rather than partnernet) although i am not very confident to reflash my devkit eeprom. Does the recovery disc still run on units with corrupted eeproms ? Also what does the debug kit eeprom serial look like ?
Dont reflash the eeprom on your Kit with a retail eeprom, you dont want to kill it now do you.And your dev kit cannot run the retail dashboard in the first place. You cannot access xbox live on your dev kit,the same thing goes for 360 dev kits, they cannot access xbox live, but a 360 dev kit can access Partnernet a hell of a lot easier than a xbox 1 dev kit by far.
I was thinking of reflashing the modified eeprom from a devkit with a retail serial but I gave up on this idea, I wouldn't want to brick the unit. It is obvious that retail EEPROMS are encrypted and that devkit might not be able to access it. Also it seems that the devkit bios might not access the eeprom at startup considering the unit boots even with HDD unlocked. Finally devkits can run retail games if you use the retail game loader which has been leaked from M$ a few months ago. (you could also use the hack devkit but I rather avoid to connect to M$ online services with it enabled)
I managed to connect to partnernet, there was something wrong with the dashboard itself, running the recovery disc fixed the issue
