Ok, so Thunderbird has changed it's name to Lanikai and I've been wanting to ditch it all together for sometime now. Anyway so I've downloaded a few other clients, Opera, Apple's own etc and yet whenever I set up my gmail account with them they seem to want to download every email I've ever had for the past 4 years. Even ones which were deleted on the gmail server years ago. I'm on a really slow connection and I can't afford to burn data on this. Does anybody know of a way of configuring the mail clients or the server settings to start from now and not dig up things from years ago? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
