Nope. Why else would I be developing PSIO. Why waste all my time and effort on such a device if emulators exist.

I think CRT's are for different needs. LCD and LED are for different purposes also.
Its like using a toaster in a microwave to toast the bread :)

Actually, that would be interesting to watch...

Original hardware was fun to collect and play once in a while, but emulators are far more convenient and flexible. For any kind of technical task emulation can also be MORE accurate by bypassing the analog "last-mile". If the only reason you dislike emulation is that you miss the CRT look, can't play lightgun games and fear lag, you have a point, but those are only short term issues, they aren't actual conceptual flaws. "Retina displays" that are coming out now paired with a CRT filter will be indistinguishable from an actual crappy CRT under normal viewing conditions.

To me the N64 or maybe the PS2 was the last console with a hardware "soul" (which also necessitates low-level emulation). Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox and the current gen are so minimalistic and API bound that their nuances are largely irrelevant and as long as I have a suitable controller and the game runs perfectly (or better than it did originally) I really don't care what I'm running the game on--it's only about the games now.

    Well, do you..?

As for me, I'm using emulators. I can't have the ten systems I'd like connected to the TV, and let's be honest, they're too valuable for the usual wear and tear using the systems day to day means. This is especially true when it comes to CD-based games.
