Howdy folks! I have converted a couple of my retail games to run on my test kit, so far so good. Although just tonight i thought id stick my odst and halo 3 multiplayer disc on my machine, i ripped them as usual and used xextool again as usual to patch teh xex files, only this time when i try and launch them i get a "this disc is not readable" error. Ive re ripped them and re patched them but still having teh same error occour. Like i said, these are not the first discs i have ripped and patched to my kit so id like to think i know what im doing, but these two are baffeling me! Im not really interested in modding these games as some would assume, in fact i was dreading posting this simply for that reason, so im not needing any of the security removed, would just like them on the HDD is all. Any help is appeciated! :icon_bigg
What firmware are you running? (ie flash:9328 XDK:8567) you may need to update, as games made in a higher XDK revision need to be ran in a higher revision.
running the latest 9328, XNA dashboard. I have newer games that are running fine on it also, MW2 for example works fine!
use xbox360gamehack.exe on the folder, some ddl files may need to be patched as well (gamehack does patch those)
Make sure when you use xextool, you're going for DLLs aswell, and don't forget "-r a". If you forget that, some games will give you a dirty disc error.
hey fellas, i dont suppose you could throw me a link up to this xbox360gamehack.exe, i just googled it and came up with some dodgy recon unlock tool hehe! Xenon.7 i used the command xextool -r a -m d default.xex but i think Tyler has it as there are dll files that it aint patching or do i just point xextool at them as i would an xex? cant be that simple surley? Thanks guys!
http://rapidshare.com/files/245084188/X360GameHack.exe Oh and run it as administrator, and just run it on the folder. and hit FIX
thanks fellas, really do appreciate the help, ran the xextool as per Xenon.7's instructions on the dll files and the game boots fine now, cant screenshot which is no great shame to be honest i remember having that problem on my xbox 1 debug kit too! And thanks for the link to xbox360gamehack, that will most definatley come in handy in the future! Once again a big thank you to all you guys, your the best!
Yeah X360Gamehack is alot easier for some files, but sometimes it has it's chugs, so I go with XEXtool. And yeah for future reference you'd just patch a DLL using XEXtool as you would a XEX. Cheers.
