Hey i am in a retro episode in my life now, so i got a old psx from the net with a bunch of games, and i have tried to get it to connect with my computer but i cant get it to connect. HARDWARE Psx: scph: 5502 Gs cartridge: Multi-x killer ( EMS PS-10) I tink it is a china version of the gameshark's) Computer os: Windows 7 & XP Connection card 1: http://www.delock.de/produkte/F_307_Parallel_89015/merkmale.html Connection dongle: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-...Parallel-Printer-Cable-Adapter/455735754.html Connection cable:http://www.c-u-s.co.uk/parallel-port-extension-cable/prod_19.html So i got the dongle first and tried to connect with that, but i only got it as a printer device. so i went to my local tech shop and found the PCI parallel card i linked to. and when i connected it to my computer it shows up in my device manager as a "Multifunction Card (PCI Multi-IO Controller)" and shows up in COM and LTP ports as "PCI Parallel Port (LPT3)" I have readed that the Gamesharks uses port 0x378 and there i think is the problem, i must miss something here when i should connect to it. i have tried to use both xp, and windows 7. i have used vmware workstation with windows 95 and 98 to with the io ports activated. i have tried most of the apps on: www.murraymoffat.com and www.http://xianaix.net with the diffrent os setups someone that can give a tought what i am doing wrong
Gameshark/AR Clones dont use parallel port for connection, they use a special IO card. See here... http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/3032/PC_COMMS_CARD.jpg To use a parallel port you need an Xplorer cart, or AR/GS 3.0
