I am trying to connect the Neo Geo CD Controller (Gamepad)) to my Sega Type 1 Jamma I/O (for Naomi 2). I had bought both a regular DB15 extension cable and a 3rd party Neo Geo extension cable. I used this pinout (http://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=controls:neo_geo_controller). I connected the +5v to pin 8 and the ground to pin 1 but connecting the other wires to any of the controls and pressing the buttons does nothing. Am I missing something here, could the extension cables be at fault? Please Help.

Edit: May have found the solution to my problem, will post more later.

Not sure, but you can use any standard 15-pin d-sub connector for the Neo Geo controller. You definitely do need the +5V for the CD controller - I tried wiring mine without it, and it didn't work. Supposedly the original Neo Geo arcade stick doesn't need it, but I've never tried it myself. I have a 15-pin connector wired to my Model 3 board (with ground and +5V coming from the PSU) and it works fine. Perhaps the wire you're using for +5V doesn't actually carry that voltage? You might want to try what I did and connect it directly to the PSU, if that's not what you're doing already.

Turns out I had the +5v and ground pins reversed because I thought the pinout was for the plug not the console. Once I switched them it worked fine.
