Yet another one of my shameless plugs. LOOKING FOR WRITERS, PM ME! (unpaid for now). I've gone and produced a retro gaming news app for the iPhone and iPad called Console Fire. It'll be updated daily and also features the radio app from my other app Gamer FM. There's nothing else like it out there and I'm hoping that it grows into something pretty big. Version 1.0 is fairly polished but I'll be working on some interface updates in time to make it a little easier on the eyes. In the meantime here's some screens and links: T-shirts will be available as part of a competition in a few weeks. The lite version can be found here http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/console-fire-lite/id497289773?mt=8 The pro version (ad free) here http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/console-fire/id497291166?mt=8 The iPad version is due for release sometime next week as I'm making a custom interface to take advantage of the increased screen size. Thanks for looking.
I gave it a try. I think you need to reformat the 3DO page since it doesn't fit on the screen so well causing the reader to scroll left and right to read all the text. Yakumo
Yeah for some reason that page breaks my iPhone wordpress template and I can't figure out why. As for localizations, if it gets a big following I'll consider it.
I don't have an iPhone either, but gave a Like on the FB page just to help out At first I thought the app was some kind of RSS feed organizer or something like that, but if I understood correctly its an app-sized Wordpress site where you and other people write the news? In terms of localized versions as karsten says, you could arrange with local sites and have a bot that auto posts from their RSS feed.
Bingo. It just parses a wordpress site and I threw in my radio app with a GUI re-design to please Apple. They wouldn't allow it to go through if it was just an parsing app. Which is kinda rich when the BBC, Sky, Fox, NBC apps etc are less feature rich and do just that.
