I certainly hope so, since that's the only reason I want the $400 system. I hate wireless controllers, I don't have broadband (so I can't use Live), I don't have a TV that would use component, etc...

Would be interesting to see a comparison on virtually all consoles/handhelds...like PC-FX/V-Boy/Pippin etc

I know some of these aren`t run of the mill but I bet there would be an even bigger shock for some of the then/now prices

Perhaps if people are aware of the release costs we can use the NASA comparison?

What do you think mods....perhaps separate thread???

Could start getting very complicated if you do that. It would need multiple sets of data, as you can't compare say US V-boy price with JPN without knowing things like exchange rate at the time, differing rates of inflation etc. Also, For example, the DS launched in the states with metroid prime hunters, and in JPN without, and the PSP had the value pack and the standard pack in JPN, and only value pack elsewhere. While we may know the difference today, it may be difficult to find out about different packs, particularly for older consoles. Could be very tricky but worth a go maybe

you could just take every price plus the details you can get into a database and from there add more and more to a comparision on the base of console/bundle with games/bundle with hardwarre like controllers /core system without anything

I seriously doubt they are goin to have the 20GB at that price in such a short time. That is more space for saves that you would ever need, and unless you use it for MP4 you will never be able to fill it.

Ill buy the core system if it wasnt for the wired pad.

Anyways, Im sure that normal-HDD cases with an adaptor for the X360 are goin to appear soon after the launch.

I was thinking more of the console on it`s own rather than worrying about bundles.

    IE Virtual Boy - US - release $xxx = 2005 $xxx

I am sure people here must have info on release prices for virtually everything.

Also from memory and don`t flame me that virtually every console released in Japan has been released in the US (they always forget Europe:-( ) And for the 1-2 that weren`t I`m sure you can do a YEN/$ conversion
