Hey guys, i'm new to assembler but hey,

I'm 21 years old living in north east England, I'm a massive gamer of all kinds and lately have decided to start a PROPER collection, i'm pretty poor so hey it's nothing great right now.

My question here is for anybody else living in the UK, where have you bought cabinets / shelves etc specifically catered to housing consoles?

I'm also a qualified joiner so could probably knock one up my self but want to see prices and ideas 1st.

Any help would be much appreciated guys :)

I'm not in UK but prices for cabinets are not so low, you better be prepare with a few bucks in special if you want one wired for consoles.

Work out your layout first and then make the cabinet around that so you can get the openings the perfect size for consoles/cases. Since you're a joiner anything you can make is better than anything you can buy, and for a cheaper price.

Also check out things like Gumtree, those "Buy sell trade" pages on facebook and stuff. You can get good free furniture on those.

I ended up just getting a tv stand meant for a really large Tv, it has a lot of slots for consoles which is a plus, although my Tv looks tiny on it.

You could also build your own if you're a good craftsman.

Ikea is a great furniture store with decent prices. it depends if you're close to a store, I'm not sure if they have them in the UK, and if they have the kind of stuff you like. I'm just here endorsing Ikea; I love them.

(They have chocolate cake, in a furniture store!)

Anyway, if you're on a budget, just check garage sales and things or look for roadside furniture, I'm not sure if that happens as often by you as it does for me...

ikea is cheapish and you can do combinations there with bookshelves (billy) and a cabinet, but its not dirt cheap... might be an idea to make something if you have the skills, will save money and its hard to find a cabinet in ikea that is solid for gaming (might have to drill holes in it etc).

Another plug for Ikea. Almost my entire apartment is Ikea stuff. Billy bookcases are the best for game storage. They're strong enough to take the weight, cheap, and they connect together for a seemless look. And @RoomWithaMoose, Ikea chocolate cake FTW!
