Know how back when Ninokuni was announced it said DS & Console and we all though it meant wii? Well no it isn't. This weeks famitsu announces Ninokuni for PS3. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKKKKKK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! :033: -edit- Here is the TGS09 trailer for the DS version (DS version is due out this year) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XQRnAKJw2o
Studio Ghibli always bring their works Stateside. There is still no official announcement for Ni no kuni yet though.. All we can do is hope. This game is simply awesome.
I didn't like the battle system. Unlike the DS version, the PS3 version features a battle system which is like playing "real time pokemon". So far in the Ps3 trailer the protagonist does not battle himself. He is standing in the middle of the fight, watching and sending monsters to fight on his behalf. That was a total turnoff for me because real time without the protagonist battling is very weird. It makes me feel like a pokemaster in a Miyazaki Universe. In the DS version of the game though the battles are more traditional, turnbased AND the protagonist is actually kicking some monster-ass with his magical stick, not just sitting ordering around his monsters to do the shitty job. Long story short. If i dont see some gameplay changes in future trailers that show the protagonist fighting alongside his monsters, i'll stick to the DS version and download the ripped cutscens from the blueray in HD and watch them subbed on an HDTV to feel the MiyazakiQuality cinematics the PS3 version will have. Maybe, If i have the strength and the time, i'll play both games DS then PS3 in order not to miss out. If anybody wants to see the DS's Battle system go to approx 0:50 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_WMg5QwEZk
The DS version is simply a straight up DQ clone. I'm personally waiting it out to see what they do with the battle system for ps3. It does look like a battle royal but I don't mind. Kind of reminds me of Eterna Sonata's battle system. Also it's kind of early to tell if the player doesn't also get into battles because at the end of the battle segment in the video he cast a fire spell. Also one thing I like about the ps3 version over the DS is the forest environment was more alive since it's in 3d where the DS is a flat image he walks on. =/ Still I think I'll end up with both versions.
Hmm wonder how the magic system is going to work on the PS3 version as on the ds you have to draw the runes to use magic. Just hope they don't delay the damn thing anymore as the ds version was meant to be out spring this year & now i have heard it's been pushed back to autumn.
It now pretty much has a fixed date. December 9, 2010 for the DS game. PS3 game has no date other then in 2011.
Looks really nice I have to say! I'm looking forward to this the art style is really nice. It best get a western release. Any word on that or is it too soon to judge?
