    Simple question :

Where to find mechanical part for CD-ROM drive like Sega-CD, CD-ROM², Saturn, 3DO...

When I mean mechanical parts I think especialy at gearing, motors, lens. For example gearings are very hard to find and it subject to wear after few years of working. One day or another we must change these parts.

So, where to find it ?

Most drives of that era has some sort of standard mfg gearing, and getting drives from that era helps as you can scavenge gears.

Best thing would be to take a drive apart and 3d scan the gears, then make them
in a 3d prototyper. AFAIK no one has done that yet, so most people scavenge cogs from older drives (pc, externals)

I had a saturn that had trouble reading CD's because of the cogs. I just went to a bootsale and found old cheap PC CD drives. Most mid 90s cd drive cogs fit so i just pulled those out and replace the saturn one!
