64DD definitely, being that F-Zero X may very well be my favourite game ever, once the track editor was talked about (breifly) in NOM back in 1998 I was hooked. It's annoying because I have a JAP F-Zero X & Expansion Pack disk..but nothing to play them on. :banghead:
Ouch, that must be depressing whenever you gaze upon the Expansion Pack... :crying: Hopefully you will find a relatively cheap 64DD soon!
I missed out on the hayday of the Mega Drive, only had enough money back then to invest in one machine and having had a NES it was always going to be a SNES. None of my friends had MD's either so I didn't even get much of a chance to play anyone elses either. Eswat, Toki and Mortal Kombat are 3 off the top of my head that I liked.
Sega Nomad...I was a kid and didn't have the 20$ the Walmart wanted for them at the time, same with Virtual Boy.
That's basically hit the nail on the head - I missed out on them as a kid, but now I can afford to I'm making up for it now by building a large collection of them. PC Engine, FM Towns were the main ones for me - very far out of my reach when I was a kid who had to wait for big titles to come out on the Mastertronic £1.99 tapes.
I wish i had been older when the saturn came out. If i was i might have bought the Saturn instead of the n64. There were just things I wish I had been older for. I might have been on the search for dev stuff and could have gotten it. So many times i wish I had been around so I didn't miss things on ebay
PC Engine/TurboGrafx it was completely nonexistent in these parts. Reminds me of the old internet meme, the Saturn/Dreamcast didn't fail you, You failed the Saturn/Dreamcast.
Oh so many! See, my family got the NES in 1990. DOH! THE SNES CAME OUT A YEAR LATER! So I didn't get an SNES until 2001 when I snagged one at goodwill. and the genesis I didn't get until 2002. I didn't get a playstation until 2003. And a dreamcast until 2004. I had played and experienced those and wanted them, but couldn't fully experience them for some time after they died.
It would have to be the TG-16, when it was being closed out for around $20; A local Electronic Boutique was clearancing them. I picked up one much later, but payed more than that.
I always wanted a wonderswan for some reason. I think I wanted it to play the ports of Golden Axe and Mr. Driller. Made sense at the time.
I would like to find a decently priced Mr. Driller for the Wonderswan. The GBA/DS versions are probably better, though.
Saturn but there's still time Seems Saturn stuff is more common than Dreamcast stuff. Neo Geo of course
A TurboGrafix Express. Not long after it first came out I could've gotten it used for either $50 or $150. Some fool listed it in a Free-Ad paper called the 'RECYCLER' for that price. I used to get up early to be first to get it when it would come out on Thursdays. What ticks me off is that if I had looked over the entire category when I got the paper it would've been mine (kids have to be ready for school at that hour so I had no competition for a few hours - enabling me to snipe them in a time when the word snipe still meant a small non-existent bird that girlfriends would hunt for on a date). Unfortunately, I was blinded by my Atari LYNX collecting & reselling at the time. FYI - for those who don't know about the 'RECYCLER' it was the place buy & sell your stuff back in the 80's and 90's if you lived in the Los Angeles area at that time - it was like ebay. Ironically Ebay has all but killed the 'RECYCLER' these days. The paper's following back then probably would have rendered ebay a still-born "eba... what?" foot-note of failed internet start-ups if the paper had gone online with an auction format when ebay was still young and vulnerable. And so ends my first post here on ASSEMBLER. .
I would have to say one of the Daewoo Zemmix models... I had the opportunity but not the time to get it (was stuck in a meeting).
PC Engine. The consoles are somewhat easy to come by, but the games I want (all of them shooters) are very hard to come by and highly expensive.
When I was about 10 I really wanted a Sega Mega CD for my Megadrive. My mate got one and I was soooo jealous. The CD drawer was awesome and looked so high tech (at the time.....to a 10yr old!). I still don't have one and I sold my Megadrive in 1996 in the Free Ads for £50 to fund my (then new) console - a PlayStation. Hands down the best console ever.
I couldn't get an XBOX 360 ($100 via Amazon.com) because the site crashed from the many users trying to snag a unit.
