Im going to consolise an MVS!
    And i have some questions.
im using an Hammond case as ive seen another guy using that. http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=193321

    # In my knowledge the board already is compatible with an 5v dc adapter?
    # What is the best methode for cutting the cartridge slot? (its aluminium)
    # Can i safely remove the heatsing and use the board without it?
    # Im going to use an RGB cable to my crt TV, do i still need an ntsc encoder?

    # yes http://www.jamma-nation-x.com/jammax/cmvs.html
    # maybe a dremel bit, some metal files and some time, also there seems to be some repaint work done since around the cart slot there is no exposed aluminium.
    # id say its there for a reason, why remove it since there is plenty of room in that case?
    # what input does your crt have?

The one you linked is a very beautiful job.

As for the encoder, some say it's not a "full" consolization if you don't have outputs other than the RGB that the board already provides but if you will be using the system exclusively via RGB SCART then why do the extra work?

Well I did a cmvs with a mv-1c with an old captiveworks box as a shell and you can remove the caps but it's not necessary and you run the risk of damaging another component trying to remove the caps. My advice would be to leave them.

you can remove the heatsink because you are not going to use the 12v for the audio amp.

That's looking rather tidy. I think a few Decals will add a lot to it. Nothing crazy like the massive Genesis logo plastered on the US Mega Drive but more in line with what you'd normally find on a console. A few smallish logos and maybe power and socket / port Decals.

Love it! All I do is use my old supergun to play on my tv. Makes a big mess on the table, but it also give me the chance to use the Neo Geo inside my jamma cab.
