I keep seeing these nice pics of consolized neos.

But no one seems to show exactly how.

Anyone have a link? Because I don't feel like spending $279 on a phantom because you know where the money is going.

Its called making a supergun ;-)

Neo Geo is pretty much JAMMA, a few extra bits to put on. There are LOADS of sites that show you how, e.g. hardmvs.

You're best off using a mini MVS. There's only 1 top loader if that's your idea. STILL haven't tracked one down or I would have done it myself.

  3. Yup, you want an MV-1C. You can get brand new ones from the NeoStore for around $170ish. You then just need a PSU that outputs Gnd, +5v and +12v, a nice casing and build a joystick.

MVS units already have controller ports. Compare connector pinouts and put in some connectors on the case. You'll need a video standard encoder, (you should use a lineout converter), a connector for video/audio out and a connector for a power supply in.

  5. Only some do. The 2, 4 and 6 slot boards do, but only 2 of the 1slots have pad ports. If you are wanting a toploader, then the only 1slot is the MV-1C. Unfortunately, it's the only 1slot with a soldered in BIOS too, which means it's harder to install the uniBios.

All the info you need on MVS boards is here -
    http://hardmvs.com/html/PCBcompare.htm
You can even d/load manuals in .pdf format.

As for connectors, you can buy pre-wired Jamma connectors, or just solder sraight to the PCB. But I would recommend an MV-1C. Mine works lovely.

The MV-1 and MV-1F (1 slot) boards also have controller ports built in.

MV-1 is too damn big for making a console. MV-1F may be too.

Yup, MV-1C is the only toploader, but no ports. But why would you want to make a stick? Just wire a DB15 to the JAMMA, wire it to AES spec and you can use AES sticks!

MV-1B is the smallest board, I believe, but its a front loader. NES console, anyone?

Hardmvs is great, but I want to consolize the board. Add video output, power and then make a nice fiberglass shell for it .

So far seen pics of the finished product, but no exact how to.

Plan was to use the MVS with the controller ports.

I know it's a supergun, but how they fit all the components under the neo metal shielding, and people machining the custom legs.

Oi! Since the new board, I have made 11 out of the 43 posts, and I'm not an MVS fanboy who only talks about consolizing!!

Haha, sorry, I haven't been there since the old board. But at the time, only one person had a non-Neo-centric Supergun and only one or two made one not for Neo... 99% of the time people make Superguns solely for Neo and I'm sick of it!!! :smt043
