I bought an MV-1B a while back and I'm finally getting around to consolizing it. I just have to wait for a few more parts to come in the mail. Anyway, after looking at some stuff on JNX and neo-geo.com, I think I'm pretty clear on what to do, except for audio.

If I do a +5v only mod, can I still get mono audio without doing the stereo mod? How do I wire it from the board?
Is it possible to do the stereo mod without building a custom circuit, ala: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...ic.php?f=117&t=1633+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us or Is this impossible once you do the 5v mod?

    A more general question:
Does anyone know the wiring points to consolize an MV-1b while still keeping the jamma edge clean? Is that possible? I see these floating around for a 1C or a 1FZ, but not really a 1B or 1A (which I also have)...

Since you are using TV or some kind of amplifier you don't need 12v at all. The audio still works like any other console would.
Just wire the audio left and right pins to your connector and that's pretty much it.
    No external circuit needed.

For your other question, there are resistors next to the jamma edge those are the points you are looking for.
The best way to trace it is using a multimeter with continuity test (the buzz test).
Go from the jamma edge and follow the traces, this is really simple and you will get a clean jamma edge.

Remember that you can't get stereo from jamma, so you will wire the controllers, +5v for the NeoGeo CD to work, R G B Sync and GND. That's pretty much it.

The consolization process is pretty simple and Xian Xi made some awesome tutorials at JNX that you should follow.

BTW: Do the battery mod, it will come in handy.

To keep a clean JAMMA edge, just put a JAMMA connector on it and wire to it. It may seem more like a Supergun but the end result is going to be the same isn't it? A Supergun just to play NeoGeo.

NeoGeo's have a slightly different Jamma interface because they have sterreo sound. I've just finished consolising (I'm not american) my 2F.
