I've tried 3 different connection cords, plugging into different sockets, but whenever I start the console I get a constant buzzing sound like white noise. Anyone know what I could do to fix it. The picture quality is perfect fine, it's just the noise, but it drives me nuts.

Have you tried a different PSU? A good chunk of SNESes lack a filter capacitor for the voltage output so if you're using a cheapo PSU, some of the electrical noise will get through since it's not being filtered.

Sounds like a 3rd party cable. Pretty much all the 3rd party ones now are crazy and do what you describe

Tried original and some 3rd party cables, mainly 3rd party due to wanting S-Video, KMO seems to be the brand of the s-video ones. As for the power supply, it's an original SNES one and the Multiplug is a high dollar one to clean the electricity. It's a hold over from when I lived in the dorms. I'm sure some of you remember how horrible electricity in those places can be. I'm going to look into the sound chip. I have a first model SNES, so I'm thinking the replacement will be fairly simple and won't be out much money otherwise. Thanks for the help everyone and if anyone else can think up anything would be glad to hear it.

Check if that filter capacitor is there too, that might help somewhat with your problem.

Just to clarify, does the buzz get louder when the picture is bright (i.e when you open up a menu with a lot of white)? Do you have a genuine Nintendo composite video cable? If the buzz goes away when you plug it in, you've got a shielding problem, since all 3rd party cables are poorly shielded.

Also, you REALLY should be using component instead of S-video, it looks MUCH better.
