I have a rev. 9 (proto-final) Xenon XDK - modern dash - resurrected from scrap and modded to have LED lights by the Chinese. System has run consistently well as needed for 5-6 years.

I've been told the board and casing still retains a few minor differences from final.

Given it's background... does this kit still have some value, or is it worth more in sentiment?

Pics would be needed in order to properly price such an item. When you mentioned scrap, led modded and Chinese, that conjures up images of the typical bucket of shit the Xedks from China.

Your description without pics = low $

My advice would be, as XboxSurgeon and PixelButts have suggested, post pictures.

If there are differences between your proto and final kits, then we'll need to see pictures of the differences to effectively evaluate it. If you can't post pictures, then a potential buyer can't see what he/she is purchasing and will thereby lowball you... constantly. They'll just think of it as being a China-Kit with an assortment of non-original pieces assembled onto the kit to make it work again.

No pics: $150 on a *really* good day, considering it is still an XDK
w/ pics + noticeable differences: $350-$500 (<-- My own opinion, as its what I'd pay, but I'm not into proto hardware just yet, so I'd take XboxSurgeon's or fate6's prices as the goto ones; they're much more likely to buy it)

Here are a few pictures from 6 years ago when it was fresh off the boat. It has been preserved well.

    Casing is a 7/10:
    * Small knick/scratch at the joint edge of the case and faceplate in the corner near the eject button
    * (2) nicks -- 1 in the molding near the power supply, 1 underneath A/V port
    * Light surface scratch on the concave side of the case above the Microsoft logo
    * Faceplate -- USB door hinge has no spring.
** The LEDs still work (!)

EDIT: The 2008 mfg. date would make this a factory refit/refurbished Xenon devkit, they had long stopped making those boards by that point. A number of these exist out in the wild.

NOTE: These pictures, previously posted on the boards here and here, are currently being shared for informational purposes only. In the event that they are a violation of the rules for lacking a signature, I'll remove them and take some new pictures this weekend.
