Contra IV Snes

I found this interesting poster on ebay from Konami that states that Contra 4 would be released on snes. It came with Castlevania IV so must be from early in the consoles life.
I assume that Contra 4 was a working title for Alien Wars following on from Contra, Super Contra and Operation C but i may be wrong.
Does anyone know if Contra 4 on the snes was a thing or if there is proto of Alien Wars with a Contra 4 titlescreen maybe?

 

Yes, there is a localization proto where the title screen said Contra IV. It's what they were gonna call Contra 3 in US apparently.

 

Yeah, they were going to call it Contra IV, as Contra Force was supposed to be released before it and would have been considered the third one.

This is what the title screen looks like and that's pretty much all there is to it.
