Anyone know if there's a voltage or pin I can short or isolate to make the video chip in the ps2 output ntsc instead of pal?

I'm not concerned with region encoding, just the video output.

Not sure... though the more advanced modchips can do it (Johnny knows I bet). Perhaps go thru the source of one of those open source modchips if you're that desperate...

Get a modchip. It's easier and better. With the latest good modchips, not only it will play PAL games on a NTSC system, but it will also center the screen correctly.

Anyway, i think that with any modchip (to make the PAL game to boot), you can play any them in color on a NTSC system if you use a video component cables. (never tested this though)

PS: By the way, Matrix Infinity latest firmware introduced a Dev.2 mode. This mean i'll be able to run application through a HDD. So instead of installing aplications like HD Loader, PS2MP3 and PS2Reality Media Player on the memory card (Dev.1) or running them from a CD-R, i'll install then on the HDD and make the PS2 boot it from there! DMS3 and DMS4 had this already. All i need now is a 120GB HD :D
