Thought I'd share something I found at a local thrift store. It was a set of Boston Digital BA735 computer speakers. They were only $10. They sound awesome, especially considering how small they are. I'd say they sound almost as good as my other $150 Klipsch computer speakers. Well worth $10 in any case. Build quality is very nice, and they also have a digital (S/PDIF) input, which is pretty rare for computer speakers. I plan on using these with my new RGB retro gaming setup in my apartment, of which I will probably take a video/pictures once I get it all set up. Feel free to share your own cool thrift store finds.
I took a video and some pictures of the new setup. I'll probably post them tomorrow or later this week. Where should I post it? I could post it in the gaming room thread, but I feel like it's a little too long and detailed for that. Then again, I'm not sure if it'd be right to post it in the collections forum either. What do you guys think?
You can check out my collection thread. 98% in there are thriftstore/recycleshop haulies http://assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19226
Nice. Yeah, I'm sure I've seen your collection before. Still cool. I just posted my gaming setup in the gaming room thread: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=526568#post526568 So check it out, or be left in the dust.
I feel like a dick saying this, but the speakers aren't anything to write home about. That being said, BA makes some great stuff and the set you acquired sounds really good! I actually have a set I used to use before I got my current setup. My father now uses them in the living room when he is on his laptop. I live on thrift stores and the like. So many deals to be had!
I think they're pretty good, especially considering how small they are. They're certainly not the best speakers I own, though. I also have some Boston car speakers - also not the best speakers I own, but pretty good.
I found a SCART cable at a thrift shop earlier today. For us in the states that's incredible. Europeans wouldn't think twice to see one.
