Core2Quad

Not particularly picky about which but there was a certain Core 2 Extreme with 4 cores that looked nice...if anyone has one and is looking to part with it.

 

I am surprised at how much the core 2 quad Extreme kept their value. The cpus still routinely sell in the 3 digits.

My system is an Asus P5Q mobo with a Q6700, overclocked to 3ghz. Geforce GTX 460. Its still a very solid system despite its years. Can play all new games well and does not crash on me ever(almost), despite the light OC.

Im planning on getting an extreme CPU for it later, to pump some more juice out of it.

 

I'll have to check back at my house, but I may have a C2Q and 4gb matching ddr2. Its a standard C2Q, not an extreme. I sure wish I had an extreme though, they're up on my list of chips to collect. Very solid processor.

I was checking out eBay and the last Core 2 Extreme goes for $150 easily but for $150 I could just as easily get a very high end 6 core AMD CPU. Gotta be something of a joke.

Spiffy, my box currently has 6gb of DDR2 in it (2x2gb and 2x1gb) and supports a max of 8gb. Would be nice to tap it out.

 

Searched everywhere for it- sorry, looks like I must have sold it in the fire sale I had before I moved out.

There seems to be a new member posting about his qx. Maybe ask him if he's willing to sell it?

Bought a CORE II Quad a while back to upgrade from a Core2Duo, very happy with it
