I emailed Cosmicco about how it is labeled as having a power supply. I asked them the voltage of the power supply and Queenie replied that it is 230V. I intend to use it here in the US with my supergun. Is there a way to get around this? What should someone from the US do if that person is interested in getting it? Any advice would be great!
You'd need whats called a step up convertor. Takes the 120V US supply, and (surprise, surprise) steps it up to 240V. Probably cheaper to just find a suitable US Power Supply however. Old AT Power supplies from PC's are suitable
I'd appreciate it if you can post links of what I need to get and where. So are you saying I can just use the power supply of my PC??
Probably not your current PC, unless its really old. Best bet would be ebay or computer fairs for one. You're looking for a power supply with a wired ON/OFF toggle button - rather than new computers which have a PTM connected to the motherboard, this the button is connected to the power supply.
Anything from below this message. Id imagine a 100W or more step up would be suitable, but I wouldn't be certain, you may get away with less or need more.
If it has a power switch on the back, you can just solder the green wire on an ATX connector to ground and turn it on and off manually with the switch on the back Stone
I heard from somewhere that ATX PSU's werent suitable for superguns, Not entirely sure why however... If it is just the power switch then thats not really a problem...
Queenie just said that you can switch it between 100V and 230V. If I put it at 100V, wouldn't a 110V socket damage it?
Not normally, no. Japan uses 100V and lots of people use it in US sockets without a problem. It's not too big a difference to matter
