Does anybody really gives a **** about these crappy 'costumer remarks' when you're browsing a product? Like when you're browsing an online store (I know Amazon has some really sad ones, though I rarely browse it) and they have these little space fillers like; Really, who gives a toss? I don't care what others think of the game/dvd or album I was about to buy. If they don't like it, it's not like I'm gonna be in doubt or anything. 'Oooh George2394 thinks it sucks, better steer clear'. Anyone else feels the same?
Heh. You dont know how helpful reviews are if you havent read the reviews on Milk, the food-product. http://www.amazon.com/Tuscan-Whole-...?ie=UTF8&s=gourmet-food&qid=1175536067&sr=8-1
I actually use Amazon stars rating when searching out new bands. If there a large number of votes then it gives you a ball-park idea on the band/album/game.
I read reviews, but only if it is well thought out and doesn't look like it was written by a twelve year old.
When they suck, too bad, but sometimes there are actually quite nice reviews providing opinions I don't mind reading to help me make up my mind. I myself write them on occassion, especially when I'm really excited/very disappointed in a certain product so yes, I actually think it's an ok system. of course those crappy ''OMFG!!!!11!!one this rocks/ this sucks'' comments aren't very helpfull. P.S. Customer. I at first thought you were talking about someone with a costume / who makes costumes .
As a general rule I don't listen to those opinions, although I can't help reading them them for the amusement. Metacritic is great for it too, I swear the site mods choose the most ridiculously biased user comments to append at the bottom of every game ranking. Which kind of brings me to where I do go for my newer game reviews, usually I read the top and bottom few at Metacritic and make up my mind based on that. Trusted recommendations from mates are the real deal-makers though.
I'm with you Segafreal_NL. Couldn't care less what someone else thinks. If I don't know about an item then I'd find out. If I like a band but some Mr.X said thaythey are no good, I'm still going to buy the CD. Yakumo
I usually read the reviews, and sort out those written by who know the difference between "there" and "their". "your" and "you're" are another good indicator of a review to consider.
I never really read the customer remarks. The only time I read them was when I was searching for PC components. I searched for the cheapest PC case they have just to see what it was. The cheapest one was probably around $11, looked really, really cheap and flimsy, and for shits and giggles I read the reviews for it. "Arrives broken, very flimsy, looks like crap. DO NOT RECOMMEND."
