I've been spottin these Sega TeraDrives lately and been watching various videos of it, so now i'd wanted to ask this question for awhile since today & yesterday (though never had the chance so far till now that is) so um... can that TeraDrive play MS-DOS games like Prince of Persia 1 & 2, Police Quest 1 & 2, Lotus, Sango Fighter 1 & 2, etc..? now i probably know half of them might require for me to have a Model 3 of the system to play them fully i bet. And one other thing, could i possibly connect the console to a Standard TV or a HDTV by anychance? Thanks!
I can't find any system requirements for the games you mentioned, but since the Teradrive's processor was pretty slow for the time (it was running a 286, and both the 386 and 486 had come out by then and the first Pentium was 2 years away) I would guess not. I don't think we ever had any of those except Police Quest, and I know we don't still have the old box to look at its requirements (finding old game system requirements isn't easy online). As for connecting it to a TV, it has a VGA output, so as long as you have a scaler that will be ok with the MD format and old old VGA pictures, it should be ok.
Yeah true, i thought i've read somewhere that it had a 386DX built-in? or unless that was the Amstrad Mega PC/Plus. And okay so a VGA adapter would be best for the situation then. And speaking of MS-DOS gaming, was it also possible to map a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Controller and play em that way or unless it needed a Joypad software program to set that up? Thanks for the info!
Ah okay awesome! Could i use my controller to play it without the need of a keyboard? And also is it possible to install Soundblaster-16 on the system?
