HI all, Would it be possible to "adapt" the cps changer controller on pc? I´m asking this because after I´ve read on the web, it seems to use a snes controller port, so directpad pro would work on that. Btw, does it need a (don´t know the right word) power adapter? Any info would be appreciated.
It does not need a power adapter and is just a standard SNES/SFC controller so there is no need to adapt it. The joystick was not made specifically for the "CPS Changer" either, its called the "Capcom Power Stick Fighter." This guy is really into converting it for use on other things: http://www.pipitan.com/cpsf.html
Why would you want to convert an extremely rare item? The questions is sort of mindblowing in an extemely noobish way.
Since it's an SNES pad and you're talking DirectPad Pro, if you've already made the adapter with an extension cord you're set.
A Capcom Power Stick Fighter is about as rare as a fart after eating a can of bakedbean :smt043 Yakumo
Because I´ve seen one for sale and considering to buy so I can have an arcade controller in a cheap way, instead of building it from parts. I´m sorry if I´m not in your level Yakumo. I don´t intend to be a jedi master of gaming. :smt023 Thx Survival Tobita.
I don't get that. I'm no Jedi Master. Unless you mean because I said the Capcom Stick is as rare as a fart after a can of bakedbeans, which it is. Yakumo
Doesn't the CPS stick have markings on the bottom to that effect? Not talking about the power stick, talking about the stick bundled with the cps changer.
We need to find someone who has one, let me go ask wytee. Wytebred owns one and he said: wytebred: it was basically the SNES Capcom stick. . . ASSEMblerEX: Were they specially marked, or just normal snes capcom arcade sticks. wytebred: specially marked wytebred: they were SLIGHTY modified wytebred: but I found the SNES sticks worked well with them ASSEMblerEX: howso? wytebred: cause they worked. . . wytebred: you just plug it in and it worked. . . wytebred: nothing magic about it ASSEMblerEX: no, the modifications wytebred: there was a place for batteries cause it could be used remotely or something. . .and the cords could be removed. . . wytebred: anyways, I'd love to chat but I have a deadline here. . .gotta go. . . ASSEMblerEX: great ASSEMblerEX: you help more than you imagine So you have the definitive answer. 1. Special controller, uniquely marked. 2. Crazy to modify If you have a normal capcom stick it's a dollar a dozen. Shop by me still has stacks of them.
All CPSF have detachable coords (so you can use it on SFC or FC)and I think they all also have the battery slot for the wireless adapter. Wireless adapter: http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h16306603
None but you can... See pics: http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g23898005 I'm looking for a picture of the underside.
Hey, that site that Kyuusaku mentioned with the guy adapting the stick for all the different systems has a link to assembler's CPS Changer page! :smt040 So apparently this stick isn't too terribly rare then, or at least the SFC version? Was there a US release, or just a Japanese one? Might have to pick it up, then it would justify getting a copy of Street Fighter Alpha 2 on SNES from my local gamestore. BTW. Was Street Fighter Alpha ever released on SNES, or just SFA2?
Yeah, I'm not sure if it was released locally, but a local game store (who buys up lots of import stuff) had one I remember. I chose not to buy it for $10 hehe it was scratched.
Yes it was sold in the US because I remember Toys R Us began selling it soon after Street Fighter 2 came out. I doubt they would import them without Capcom's blessing. They were also sold for the Genesis in a white case. http://www.egameaddiction.com/store/productlinks/genesis/genesiscapcomfightingsstick.htm
