anyone actually own a cps changer? I interested in how well the run and how the controls are compared to an actual arcade cab.
I own one. The games themselves are arcade perfect since they are basically just CPS1 games in a slightly different case. The Changer itself is just really a Supergun in a neat little package and can actually play most Jamma games. The only exception to the above is that Street Fighter Zero was "downconverted" from a CPS2 game to a CPS1 compatible version and is not truly arcade perfect. You're really just better off buying a Supergun and the boards since they are much cheaper and easier to find than the Changer and its games and you have more flexibility in controller options.
I second Bojay. The CPS Changer is neat, but it costs alot of money to get ahold of. Plus the game selection is limited and again pricey. You are far better off buying the arcade PCBs of CPS1 games and your own Supergun. Really all the CPS Changer is a Supergun with a Video Encoder, SNES controller interface, and well that's about it. It's mainly just a cool item because it's from Capcom. If you want to spend tons of money on an arcade converted to home, buy a NeoGeo AES.
Still allows you to use Super Famicom pads if you feel that way inclined, but yes it's an expensive Supergun that is quite collectable, but if you are going to collect it then you would want the boxes but they add lots of Yen to the price.
