Hey everybody. I have an issues. I have Dev[Xenon]/Test[Xenon-Zephyr to]/Demo[Xenon-Zephyr to] kits to. I want to know all of my units CPU key. I have 4548 recovery. I dumped my CPU key from my Dev kit with the King kong exploit, everything was worked fine. But when i tried to dump my Test or my Demo kits CPU key its not work. The flash is 4548, i put in the King Kong exploit, the game freeze looks good but it doesn't eject the tray. If i eject it manual and put the Gentoo live cd in to it it doesn't work. Anybody know what is the problem? Sorry for my poor english.
Did you recover as retail? As in pressing Y at the start of the recover. I remember it didn't work when launched from the launcher dash.
@ aswa and y, you can recover just normal between retail and normal xdk mode. Because the retailmode is not a real retailmode, it's more like the xdk boot straight into the dash. And in retail you can't launch real retail xex's, still just dev xex's. If you ask for that
I tried it in retail and in "dev mode" to. Not working. Of course the KK exploit's default.xex patched as dev xex. The exploit working great on my Dev kit, but on my Test/Demo kit not working (doesn't eject the tray). Any idea? Somebody try to dumb the CPU key from Test/Demo? I tried in 2 Test and 1 Demo, in all had the same problem.
So I made a video of my problem. Video uploading finished, youtube now processing it, few min and its will be visible. I now tried totally on 5 XDK with Test mobo, and its not working only on my Dev mobo XDK ones. I really don't understand what is the problem. The video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rng6eLLqBYg
Ok, i now tried to use the same setting in the XDK launcher in the two unit, not work. I changed the original Hitachi 79 drive to Hitachi 47, Samsung MS25, Benq VAD6038, Lite-on 74850c, not work. I tried to start the KK exploit from the HDD, on dev kit work, on test kit not working. I don't understand that...
Looking at your video, I think I've figured it out. Your demo/test kit is too new. Looking at the video, it has an HDMI port, which is when they introduced the whole update against this exploit. This makes me think that the base kernel on that kit is too new to allow the exploit to work, even if you recover it to 4548. If you look at your dev kit, it is an older unit without an HDMI port, which would mean it can be downgraded. If I remember right, the recovery to such an old kernel on a newer unit causes video output problems, can you use both HDMI out and AV out?
on falcons/jasper you're looking at a console that won't even power on with a recovery that old ;p -Doom
The entire kernel gets overwritten when you run a recovery. Dev kit's don't use patches. The hv and kernel in the base section is the entire thing.
no, some kits with hdmi can start the exploit without issues and some can't. The border is around zephyrkits.
Ahh, Zephyr 2007-04 prototype demo kit, same hardware as the xenon... I have test kit 2006-03 Xenon and I got the same problem like in this one. I will made another video.. So any idea what is the problem?
And i forget to say, i was have 2007-07 Zephyr Dev kit. few months ago and in this one work the exploit to... Of course this one was got HDMI..
so the video show that you recovert to 4548. But when your xdk fire up, it boots in the xlauncher. But it must boot direct in the dash. So recover again and use the setting, recover to retail!
