Hey Everyone, Can anyone remember when Cracker Jack prizes didn't suck so much? (^_^); It's like just a piece of paper now, or some tiny sticker.
Unfortunately, when I started buying these when I was a kid around ten years ago, Cracker Jack was still like this. Just a sticker thingy... My guess is that it had something to do with safety concerns because people are accustomed to dumping a bag of snacks down their mouth. ><
I guess inflation has something to do with it also. Back in the day, a few cents for a Cracker Jack box was a lot of money for a kid to blow. If you didn't get a prize, or it sucked, kids would be pretty angry. So I guess they had to stuff things like Decoder Rings, Whistles, etc inside them to keep them coming back for more. Now days all prizes seem to suck, except in Japan. I mean down there, if you had to buy a chocolate bar that came with nothing, or one which came with a Gundam model, which would you buy? Of course the one with a Gundam pack-in. (^_^); I guess it doesn't work that way here.
