Yeah, I know, but a great price. Usually in the $1000 range you have to choose an i5/Blu-ray or i7/no-blue ray. Finding one that has both while staying at $1,000 or less is next to impossible...

Wow, you'd have to spend like 1200$ to get that in Poland. :p

What's the point of Blu-ray on a laptop? Are you really gonna sit in front of a laptop and watch a Blu-ray movie?

Ah patience young one, give it a few months and it will be under $1000 and you will probably have more choice in what you can get. :)

Why not? I sit in front of my laptop and watch videos all the time. I think you're missing the point of the laptop.

I also sit in front of my laptop and mess with data... which can be burned to BluRay disc. See where this is going?

Yeah, but that same logic will hold true a few months from now as well...heh. It was just a smoking deal when compared to similarly priced laptops.

He's not trying very hard if that's what he's doing.

Is there something wrong with Toshiba? I always liked their lappy lineup.

Is sound carried through HDMI? I don't have anything HDMI but the biggest problem I've had with PC to TV is getting good sound quality.

I have a Toshiba that uses Vista. Not sure if it's the hardware or the software. It came with 1 dead pixel and can't seem to handle my external monitor without the blue screen. Slow as all hell....

Yes it is, tho on a laptop you have to configure it as such.

well, toshiba has crappy warranties(a dead pixel and you want a new lcd? hell naw, ain't gonna happen) and generally they're located in the lower-middle class. If I'd have to buy a new laptop (which I'll be doing pretty soon) I'd go for a vaio. nothing less. My current vaio is still in great condition, and I bought it used, 2 years ago. It handles win7, cad software etc. without any problems. I think I'll be able to sell it for like 300$ (just the screen is worth like 100$). When it's computer you just gotta go with quality, I'd rather get an i3 instead of i5 and know I'm getting quality.

I never even thought of that. Do the Macbook Pros handle sound through the HDMI cable?
