Since I'm boxing, unboxing, and testing a lot of days I've come to really hate some of the types of boxes that companies have used over the years.

    My least favorite include:

XBOX Special Editions - They're packed to tightly that once you get everything out you can't get it back in as snug as it first was. That makes the box bow out in the middle like it has a gut. That makes the bottom latch come undone if you pick it up at the sides. Poor long term planning.

PC Engine DUO-R/X - Just a complete mess. You have the accessories that are held in the side of one of the styrofoam console holders. When you pull it out of the box it all dumps out, and then when you try to get it back in you have to lower it in while blocking off the sides. Same goes with the Casio Loopy model and a couple of others.

Casio PV-1000 - Handle from hell. Slide everything out, then have fun trying to get it to slide back in without getting caught on the handle. The process will take minutes.

Nintendo Gamecube special editions - Is there really a need to build a mini city with cardboard inside the box? It's like each piece has its own garage or something. Good luck putting the 3-D puzzle back together again after you're taken it out.

Sharp Famicom Titler - The controller connects to the console under the top styrofoam, yet the controllers themselves rest on top of the styrofoam? Insanity.

Neo Geo Front Loading CD - The thing is so friggen big that it feels like I'm giving birth to it when I pull it out.

Sorry, just had to rant for a sec.

I agree with you on those. My 2cents for best system box:

The old NES, cause there's no better feeling (or memory) than in sliding out the styrofoam from that black box, and seeing a flat, grey system wrapped in sweet-smelling plastic emerge.

n64 was very easy, and even had space for two carts:D

Gamecube controllers in the standard GC box are kinda picky in being placed back in.they give him hell.

I really disliked the box the red DS with Mario Kart bundle came in.

Hard to put everything back in its place.

the original (no led) GameBoy pocket silver came in a very durable and neat plastic casing which opened like a book. Awesome!

The Saturn HST-0014 boxes are horrible. First they're ugly, printed in red monochrome and are almost impossible to find and keep in a decent condition.

I like the Japanese DS Lite boxes though. Everything fits in so nice and snug. The first time I opened it was pretty exciting.

    Yeah I'm sad.

Id say the dreamcast box. The presentation of it is extremely plain. Though the 2nds run of units had a much better style. But hands down the xbox packaging is some the worst, the styrafoam in it breaks very easily and is punniy comapred to the console itslef.

The orange dreamcast box, I find that one pretty.

The "2001-space oddysey" like one with "THE ULTIMATE GAMING SYSTEM!" or some nonsense printed on it, that's just crappy as hell. Yup, it's the one I own, bought in the mexican black market, Best-Buy sticker and all.
